Courses
The Mosaix Multiethnic Church Institute is launching three non-credit bearing certificates to equip leaders with practical tools for specialized ministry.

Combining Foundations and Practical Application
Each Certificate Includes 2 Courses = 16 Weeks Total
Our 3 non-credit certificate programs are: Church Economics, Multiethnic Church Leadership, and Cultural Intelligence (CQ). Each certificate consists of two 8 week courses, available fully online modality using Wheaton’s learning management system. Participants will engage in the certificates as part of a cohort with courses following a consistent format as outlined below with approximately 4 hours of work per week:
- Weekly reading assignments
- Live video calls (1 hour, every other week)
- Online discussion boards (4 per course, 60 minutes work per time)
- One mid-point assignment (2 page paper or equivalent)
- One final assignment (5 page paper or equivalent)
A certificate is awarded after the completion of both courses in each respective area.
Courses are designed to provide a combination of content and case studies to provide a basis for building greater understanding of specific ministry areas. Each week, there are built-in reflection prompts in order to allow students to go deeper in considering key questions and ways to integrate what they are learning into their ministry. Each course also contains a short mid-point and final assessment to further learning and integrate the key areas of the course into a ministry application plan. Course content is based on key books and examples drawn from the experience and expertise of Mosaix leaders and like-minded ministries from across the US.

April 20 - June 12, 2026 start
This course introduces the core principles of Church Economics as a framework for 21st-century local church ministry. Moving beyond incremental improvements or efficiency models, students will engage the concept of Disruptive Innovation as it applies to ecclesial leadership. The course examines how churches can align their spiritual, social, and financial mission to meet emerging cultural and economic realities. Students will develop a conceptual understanding of how traditional funding models are becoming unsustainable, and consider the kind of adaptive, entrepreneurial leadership required to guide congregations into a sustainable and missionally vibrant future.

August 24 - Oct. 16, 2026
Building on the foundations of MMC101, this course explores structural shifts and practical strategies that are today necessary for getting beyond sole dependence on tithes and offerings. Students will confront the central question: How can our church move from financial survival to sustainability while scaling missional vibrancy? Recognizing the growing limitations of traditional funding models, the course examines innovative practices for creating multiple streams of income by leveraging church assets. Through case studies, frameworks, and applied analysis, students will learn to assess opportunities, mitigate risks, and design adaptive approaches that strengthen both the church’s financial sustainability and its community impact.

Foundations of the Multiethnic Church (Theology & Core Commitments)
This course explores the biblical and theological foundations of a healthy multiethnic church—one in which people of diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds walk, work, and worship together as a credible witness to God’s love for all people. Drawing on Scripture and the leadership framework of Mark DeYmaz, students will examine the core commitments required to move beyond demographic diversity toward genuine unity, reconciliation, and shared life in Christ.
Designed for pastors, church planters, ministry and denominational leaders, nonprofit and seminary leaders who seek to move beyond demographic diversity toward building healthy, theologically grounded, and missionally effective multiethnic congregations.

Applied Leadership for a Healthy Multiethnic Church
Building on the 301 foundations, this course equips leaders with practical strategies to cultivate healthy, vibrant multiethnic congregations. Emphasis is placed on developing equitable leadership structures, addressing broken relationships, advocating justice and mercy, and navigating the tension between theological faithfulness and cultural complexity. Students will gain a practical roadmap for leading ministries that reflect God’s reconciling work and advance the Gospel in diverse communities.

Foundations of Cultural Intelligence (CQ®)
This course introduces the core components of the Cultural Intelligence (CQ) framework, a research-based approach to becoming more effective in working with diverse teams and communities. Beginning with exploring the need for CQ in ministry today and the biblical foundations for using CQ, the course will explore the four CQ capabilities and 10 cultural values. Students will also take the CQ assessment to help better understand themselves as leaders, and plan for ways to apply CQ in their ministry.

Applied Leadership in Cultural Intelligence (CQ®)
Building on MMC501, this course will continue to focus on how the CQ framework and assessment can be used in ministry. A number of specific application areas will be covered, but the main focus will allow students to create a customized CQ application plan for use in their ministry framed as a CQ learning journey.
