Essentino A. Lewis Jr. is Senior Pastor of Clifton Park Baptist Church, a vibrant and culturally diverse congregation in the Washington, D.C. area representing members from more than 30 countries. A visionary pastor, attorney, educator, and civic leader, Dr. Lewis is known for his commitment to biblical teaching, discipleship, and community engagement.
Since becoming pastor in 2008, he has led the church through significant spiritual and numerical growth while expanding its community impact through initiatives such as Project Neighbor Care, which provides food and essential resources to local families, and the Clifton Park Baptist Church Christian Academy for underserved students. His ministry also extends globally through leadership training and missions work in The Gambia and other international ministry efforts.
In addition to his pastoral leadership, Dr. Lewis serves as an Adjunct Professor at Fuller Theological Seminary and President of the District of Columbia Baptist Convention. Before entering full-time ministry, he practiced law and served as Assistant General Counsel at Morgan State University.
A native of Buffalo, Dr. Lewis holds degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo, University of Maryland School of Law, Lancaster Bible College, and Fuller Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Dr. Cassandra Lewis, are the proud parents of three children.
