SMALL TOWN BIG CHURCH PODCAST
Episode #253 – Five Keys to Preaching to an Online Audience or an Empty Room. In this episode of the Small Town Big Church Podcast I share some practical insight into how rural pastors can maximize their online sermons for their people in light of the recent corona virus and how it has forced churches away from public gatherings.
With thousands of churches canceling their “in person” worship services, lots of people are trying to determine how to “do church” online using live-streaming or YouTube. In this video, Luke Geraty shares some of the different options (live-streaming versus prerecorded) as well as point you to three different equipment options.
HUMANITARIAN DISASTER INSTITUTE
As the impact of the coronavirus pandemic grows with each passing day, we have been doing all we can to develop resources to help churches navigate these uncharted waters. This week we’re sharing resources your church can use as you consider how to faithfully respond over the coming days and weeks ahead.
For a season, the best way to love God and serve our neighbors is by staying in our homes with ourselves, our roommates, our pets, our parents, or our spouses. We don’t know how long this will last, but we want to take this opportunity to help you worship God “in your household.” We don’t want to burden you with more activities or responsibilities. We encourage you to embrace this interruption and walk simply with our God.
NORTH CAROLINA BAPTISTS
During this uncertain time we stand firm on the promises of God and His unshakeable faithfulness (Rm. 8:32). The Baptist State Convention of North Carolina staff are committed to serve you as you continue in the ministry under challenges that come from social distancing. The resources provided below seek to aid in these efforts.
HOW TO GO VIRTUAL IN A HURRY
We all know that there is a lot of news right now about the Corona virus (COVID-19), and it can lead to a lot of panic. A number of churches are making decisions to change their gatherings, some are making changes to their process on a Sunday morning (anyone else eliminated handshakes for the time being?), and some are not doing anything. But, there’s a chance that you may want to (or need to) move church online for a bit. We want to help!
PHONE LIVE STREAMING
Create a phone number that anybody can dial into and listen to a live event, such as a church service. This works well if you have elderly members who have trouble with computers and smart phones and want a simple way to tune into your message. Members who are traveling and unable to safely watch a video and those who have limited, or no internet access also will find this helpful.
SMART CHURCH SOLUTIONS
Preparing to Re-Open After Covid-19.
We understand that COVID-19 has impacted a large majority of people, especially churches. One of the impacts a lot of people are not yet accounting for is what it will take to get their facility back and running smoothly when we’re able to resume services. As church facility management experts, we have developed a FREE checklist to help you get back on track.
